Although Oydin Hojiyeva's creative work began in the second half of the 60s, her first poetry collection was published in 1970 under the title «Shabnam» (Dew). Almost all her collections feature pure and kind, forgiving and loyal maternal feelings, the heart of a faithful beloved, and the soul of a tasteful, insightful, and subtle poetess.
Oydin Hojiyeva is not only a skilled poet but also a publicist and translator. She was awarded the title of «People's Poet of Uzbekistan» (1992).
People's Poetess of Uzbekistan Oydin Hojiyeva was born in 1942 in Bo'ston village, Qiziltepa district of Navoiy region. She finished secondary school in 1960 and graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Tashkent State University in 1966.
From 1965 to 1976, she worked as a literary contributor and department head at «Sharq yulduzi» magazine, from 1976 to 1985 as a department head at «Saodat» magazine, from 1985 to 1995 at «Gulxan», and has been working as an editor at «Saodat» magazine since 1995. She is the author of over 20 poetry collections.
The poetess's poetry bouquet titled «Ko'zimning oqu qarosi» (The White and Black of My Eyes) (1996) is full of the spirit of independence and the dream of independence. She is not only a skilled poet but also a publicist and translator. She was awarded the title of «People's Poet of Uzbekistan» (1992).
